"Traditional smoking and curing of quality foods is an art form and should present the consumer with a delightful and most pleasurable experience of subtle flavours and texture" Simon Macdonald speaking on BBC radio 4.
Simon Macdonald founded Macdonald's Smoked Produce in March 1987 and has gained an international reputation for product development using the finest fish, meats and cheeses. He is now much in demand as a consultant to the sea fish and gourmet food industries in the United Kingdom and the European Union, as well as governments across Asia, Africa and the Far East.
We pride ourselves in using only traditional methods of curing and smoking to enhance the delicate natural flavours and textures of a wide range of products, many of which are unique to ourselves. We do not use any dyes or artificial flavour enhancers in our produce. The highest standards of quality are maintained throughout, from the careful selection of only the very best fresh produce, through the intricate and often lengthy art of smoking, to the finish of packaging and shipping.
Today the company supplies its products around the world to such well-known names as the Gleneagles Hotel, Harrods, Inverlochy Castle, Queen Mary II, several Royal Households and numerous Embassies.
